India’s First LGBTQ+ Influencer Platform is here!
In a historic judgment, the Supreme Court of India struck down Section 377, thereby decriminalizing consensual adult gay sex. Not only has this decision been celebrated by the people, but it has also opened up new doors for brands who are yet to tap the fairly large population of LGBTQ+ people in India. Notable personalities and influencers from the LGBT community have been fighting the battles of gender equality and sexual orientation and it is time for brands to collaborate with such people. This will not only help them represent themselves as a diverse brand but also reach out to the close-knit LGBT community which they have been missing out on for a long time.
Even though there is no actual data available which calculates the number of LGBT people in India, however, according to a report submitted by the GOI to the SC in 2012, 2.5 million gay people are residing in the country. That is 2.5 million people that your brand can reach out to using influencers from the community.
