Uber's new venture promises flying cars that land vertically!

The sign of a smart future has always been flying cars. And it seems like Uber and Hyundai have partnered to make it happen! Uber presented their plans for a flying taxi at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and it sounds super intriguing.

We all know Uber as a taxi and a ride-sharing company. But the company is seriously stepping up its game with its new flying cars plan. According to The Guardian, they gave the world a peek into it with a full-size mock-up of the electric plane concept vehicle. The PAV or the personal air vehicle was made with the help of Hyundai, the South Korean carmaker.

Flying cars are a great plan considering the on-road traffic. And according to the blueprint Uber has showcased, the PAV ride allows for ride-sharing too. This means apart from the pilot, three passengers can hop on to take city-wide trips that are not more than 60 miles long. At a speed of 180mph, hopefully, nobody will arrive late to important events anymore.

Look wise, the PVA is pretty darn stunning. It resembles a winged helicopter and has four propellers to get the car flying. Thanks to Uber and Hyundai, we can expect a car that can take off and land vertically. And according to Uber, this future is not too far away. They say they hope to launch the service by 2023.

Uber has also teamed up with Bell Helicopter and Embraer, the aircraft manufacturers as well. And back in 2019, they were able to launch a prototype aircraft at Consumer Electronics Show. But with Hyundai’s help, the S-A1 electric plane attempts to reduce the carbon footprint of the fossil fuels used for air travel. The alternative chosen now is electric propulsion!

Uberfly has clearly thought of it all. And keeping tabs on its development is going to be a fun countdown to 2023.
